Tom,

Here's my two cents on one aspect of Net communication in general and
CrashList communication in particular.
To a degree, we are learning how to ask questions deemed unacceptable and
unthinkable by a "good" education.
Am I on or off the mark here, Tom?

Ken,

you wrote:

as for your first statement, I think we have all had that frustration of
having salient thought ignored. I know my own non-response to yourpost was
due to feeling I was in over my head in that particular area; so I said to
myself: "Well, let me wait and see what they say about THAT, then I'll jump
in." Rest assured that you've now sent me to the bookshelves to research.

As to ideological "gotcha", that is pandemic upon the 'net, and I thought it
was a requirement for each post here on crashlist! <g>

Seriously, I am amazed at how much further we have been able to take
discussions when we a) gave up the need to "win" and b)kept asking the
question until it was answered.

Personally, I also try to discount those who attack the footnote (source) of
an idea, but avoid a simple response to the idea itself. It's amazing how
obvious and shallow those kinds of intellectual dishonesty appear when one
steps back and examines them.

Unfortunately we all seem guilty of it from time to time.

thanks for your words, Ken

Tom
