If I understand your "to a degree" and the use of quotations around 'good',I 
think you are spot-on the mark, Seth. But I am neither the arbiter of such 
things nor more than another poster with an opinion. IMHO, we are here to 
speak truth, color outside the lines, offer outrageous opinions and learn by 
listening with an open mind to others.

I am reminded of the old entrance page to Daniel Quinn's Ishmael website: 
"Forget everything you ever learned, it's all a lie."  Certainly a "good" 
education has imbedded in its core the seductive whispers of Mother Culture 
lulling us back into somnambulance. It is clear that what we learn in school 
starts by ignoring the wisdom and the lessons of the first 2 million years 
of human experience. These experiences are almost lost to us.

And yes, it does seem -- doesn't it? -- that it is unacceptable and 
unthinkable to point out the abyss yawning at our feet.
