e. g. our intiative process has been taken over by millionaires with
inappropriate axes to grind: 13, 209, 187, 226, 227, three strikes, 22, 21.
(Anti-affirmative action, anti-inmigrant, anti-gay, anti-union etc.) We
have given some thought to banning the rich (especially outside of the state
rich) from misusing the intiative process. We can't come up with words that
couldn't be used against us. Working folks voted for proposition 13 to keep
old folks from using their homes to taxes but huge budget cuts for services
resulted because the capitalists put in language that was a huge tax break
for big corporations and land owners. Folks thought that they were keeping
dangerous murderers off the street by voting for the three strikes law, but
it is just a money maker for the prison industrial complex. We have a huge
"slave" labor component in our society as a result.
