What is this BS about all US policy not being based on capitalism? Even
internal stuff is based on capitalism. I was so disgusted as a science major
undergraduate at the corruption of chemical research by student and
professors because they were working for oil companies. When we do get a
policy not based on capitalism, it is because we fought for it sometimes by
dying. I have attempted to write or suggest legislation as a union leader or
in my women lawyers' group. It is so hard to write it so that it can be
turned around against the working class. The federal government is
controlled by big oil, defense contractors etc. The state government in
California is controlled by agribusiness, and our local government is
controlled by land developers. Running for office is very very expensive.
We don't have proportional representation so the Repubicrats run the show. I
have learned that we have to check who gives what money to what legislator so
that we can see how they'll vote.
