This might help approach the reasons that I find myself unable
to hold a conversation with Tom. Two points.
(1) I deny that anyone ever had such an idea.
(2) Nothing ever *starts* with an idea. Ideas have to come
from action; they don't just drop from heaven or spring like
Athena from the head of some person.
And I really don't know how to carry on a conversation with
someone who can't grasp these two points.
[I *do*, however, know how to convince the majority of
people in any semi-organized activity that these ideas are
incoherent.]
