Aren't you talking about Zot Defense rather than DDs? On Sat, Nov 27, 2010 at 12:55:40PM +0100, Raphael Langella wrote: > First change I suggest would be to change the cost of defense from XP to > gold. The reason is simple: we have plans to get rid of the XP pool, so > better not to rely on it.
Uhm, you repeat that over and over... but I know of no such plans. The only such attempt so far has been a resounding failure. Of course, this scheme is indeed artificial, but to speak about plans, we would first need one that has a chance of working. And with skills as diverse as weapon, dodging, T&D, tmut which not only have different rates of exercise but also different timings for various uses, it's certainly not an easy task. For example, both spamming Evaporate and using a transformation before a fight works just as well -- even though the first means multiple casts which will quickly drain the pool and so subsequent casts won't train as much -- and the second means rare exercises but all with a full pool. You can't replace this with a simple exercise counter, and trying to assign various actions different "exercise counts" is not really going to work either -- plus, being a nightmare to maintain. In other words: the XP pool is not likely to be removed anytime soon. > -- > You can't make an omelette without ruthlessly crushing dozens of eggs > beneath your steel boot and then publicly disemboweling the chickens that > laid them as a warning to the others. > General Tarquin - OOTS Hell yeah! -- 1KB // Microsoft corollary to Hanlon's razor: // Never attribute to stupidity what can be // adequately explained by malice. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Increase Visibility of Your 3D Game App & Earn a Chance To Win $500!
