I like most of your suggestions. Hope to hear some discussion and
hopefully to have some time to playtest. (Is the next planned release
in July?)

I like your ideas and have some slight tweaks, but before I do I want
to ask whether these are real problems.

The first one has serious gameplay limitations, but we simply accepted
them for Ash. I approve of NOT accepting them (especially because it
would be sad to have two gods with the same accidental race
restrictions), but I just have to get the question out in the open.

The second one is not a gameplay problem; it's a description problem.
It's MAGIC and doesn't operate by sheer mass, and shouldn't be
described as "it's heavy", but rather as something like "it generates
a field that slows your maneuvers". (I don't want to use the word
"magic" here, to avoid the implication that carrying antimagic can
counteract it.)

Alternately, make Chei generate a temporary version of the brand. (I
do approve of keeping the permanent version... In fact it might
possibly be interesting to make it sometimes get generated as a
permanent or temporary side effect of things like miscasts.)

No need for "Hurry up" -- it'll have no tactical use anyhow, so just
let Chei give and Chei take away when he gets around to it, meaning
that the duration of the ponderous effect will be set based on "when
Chei gets around to it", which I would say implies a random duration.
Chei isn't Xom, of course, so the results won't have a huge spread;
and all affected items will de-Ponderify at once, not in a scattered
way. Probably a large constant plus a 1 or 2 relatively small dice.

If that downside is important, it might be worthwhile to write the
story so that the god works *through* your armor, actually requiring
that you not be wearing artifact body armor in the process, so that if
you're wearing artifact armor the entire ponderification won't work.

We can then rescale the benefits and penalty of multiple Ponderous
items so that wearing one is slow, two is *slow*, but four or five
isn't much different from three, so that races with limited slots
aren't too restricted from Chei.

Clearly, equipment is very important to Chei; he likes tanks more than
he likes clunkers.
