I did a little experiment years ago. I found I got better gas mileage if I ran 87 as compared to if I ran 91. My routine at that time was very set back then so i made sure everything was the same for the experiment. I found I got about 29-31 mpg with 91 while I got 35-37 on 87. Those numbers sound way off but they are true. I did this over a 2 month period. I used the same gas station (the one i worked at) and basically drove the exact same way everyday. If you read the owners manual for these cars it states that these cars are designed for around 87 octane. I will try to dig mine out tonite to verify this.
