You want the slightly time-consuming but really quite easy way to do it?
Disassemble the alternator right in there (it's only about 8-10 small
Phillips-head screws)...then pull out each part...just remember how it came
apart, cause you'll need to put it back together!

Well guys

a big ole drill bit to the rescue. i drilled perpendicular to the bolt
travel on just inside both bracket "ears" and I have released the
alternator from its death grip on the engine. Unfortuanly I doubt I'll
get my core charge back... Now for the fun part. getting the alternator
out of the tomb of an engine compartment. The engineers @ honda must be
into S&M. I tried to loosen the bracket from the engine, to drop it out
he bottom but to to avail its rusted up good to. so I guess I have to
disconnect the brake lines, pull the master cylinder, remove alt. then
put it all back together and then the fun part. bleed all of the brakes.
What a PITFA. Which means I'll end up with a broken wheel cyclinder and
have to replace some rear hubs when i crack them with a sledge trying to
get them off Oh... Can't forget the bleeder nipple i'll shear off of the
front caliper. I'm almost beginging to hate this car. And I haven't even
started working on the glass yet.
