Don't mean to argue with you, the Illuminati,or G. Manley Hall, but the compass would
relate to Imenhotep, the human Architect; Ptah, the Creator God; or Thoth, the god
who, among other things, encompassed mathematics, learning, and philosophy. That's
what it relates to re the Egyptians. What it means to FreeMasons may be something
else altogether.
Isis was never an Earth Mother....she was ever Queen of Heaven.
Osiris was dismembered by his evil brother Set. Isis reassembled all the pieces but
one. She never found his phallus. Or perhaps she did find it and used it to impregnate
herself. Reassembled (with a missing part), Osiris became King of the Underworld.
(Instead of being resurrected, he was reassembled). Isis gave birth to Horus, the
hawk--
warrior of heaven--who triumphed over Set and avenged his father, returning the Cosmic
Order to Justice and Harmony.
Illuminati ideas are an amalgam of Egyptology/Christianity/ and the Order of the Rosy
Cross....Rosicrucianism.. I don't know about the Rosicrucians, but I don't think the
Christians would cotton to a Queen of Heaven--not a human mother giving birth to a
diviine son, but a divine mother giving birth to a divine son who avenges the wrongs
done her and then rules over a world restored to order. Moreover, the Egyptology of the
Illuminati dates back to the early years of Egyptian rediscovery, (Napoleonic era)
before much was known and before many texts had been translated.
