Yes, the ship is currently called "Freedom ship", and I thought along the
same lines. The answer to the question about rich people who can afford tax
wanting to avoid it, is that it is easy to get rich if you avoid paying 85% of your
fuel bill on tax, or 17.5% on VAT, or 40%+ on income tax, and these advantages become
clearer the more you earn/spend. Of course, whoever gets a monopoly on the corner
shop business there will make millions!
As for the anchoring, it is too big to get into most harbours, and will tour
the world for most of the year. Due to the size, it should be as stable as land.
I don't think I believe this 100%. Even the QEII with all it's size, weight
and giant stabilisers can't stop a force 3 sea!
The piracy idea is good, but the thing is so big that you would need a small
army to take it. :) As for flying under the Phillipeano flag, their piracy rate
would be ample justification for the large amounts of hardware needed. :))
Where do I sign up? On the website, but the prices start at $500,000 and go
rapidly up! Perhaps in a few years.... dependant on firearms regulations on board!

The problem is that most people willing to live in such confines I think would
not like the idea of their being no police apparatus and you would soon see
a bureaucracy similar to that on the mainland. Power corrupts and all that.
Doesn't look like there's a shooting range anyway.
Interesting idea though: http://www.freedomship.com
A shooting range on a much smaller scale might be interesting!
