Well let's see. You and I were recently involved with making a connection to
MsSQL for dabo There were two python interfaces available. One was created
by a company called Object Craft. Because it looked like there was no
activity we as group decided to use the other python module. I'll assume
that you were part of that decision since you found the second module and did
not voice any objection to selecting your find.

Well, last week Object Craft updated their interface for Sybase from the same
author. So were we wrong in our assessment? Object Craft had an active
website just like Dabo does. But we got the wrong impression some how. All
I want to prevent is giving a wrong impression. An IRC with little to no
activity just might do that.

Current state:
I believe the current dabo project is growing. Every week I notice more and
more involvement. I see and hear more from third parties. I notice
statements made about Python as a growing community. I see Python moving up
the list of popular programming languages. Soon these new Python programmers
will need desktop database apps. And I believe these programmers will find
Dabo. I'll go one more step and say this will start in 2007.

Dabo is still young and fragile. It wouldn't take much to blow the good will
and support we currently have.

Again only my .02
