I would say that depends on whether there is a good and wide-used
translation in French. If there is, and French users would know immediately
what is referred to when seeing the word or abbreviation/acronym, then I
would use it. If there isn't, and you would "invent" your own word, or use
an acronym of the colours red, green and blue, when that acronym isn't
commonly used in French, then I would definitely use "RGB".
