the idea of deflicker is taht if you set the same parameter to a group of
images you will get very close exposure on all of them

unlike setting exposure to -1ev which would not make all images look alike.
only darker than they were intended to be.

This is usefull when you are trying to make a video (i.e timelapse) out of
images and a single image with a different luminosity would give a flicker
effect to the whole timelaps.

I don't think "ternir" fits the idea so well...
