I understand. In this case 'caler' wouldn't be so bad. Because there's the idea of setting something, like an engine. And in another way the the idea of stopping something like when a mistake is done when driving a car. If still, it doesn't fit the idea, well lets keep 'deflicker' but in real french this would mean as much as 'grbjk'.  And this confirms that an explanation popup is an essential need.

the idea of deflicker is taht if you set the same parameter to a group of images you will get very close exposure on all of them

unlike setting exposure to -1ev which would not make all images look alike. only darker than they were intended to be.

This is usefull when you are trying to make a video (i.e timelapse) out of images and a single image with a different luminosity would give a flicker effect to the whole timelaps.

I don't think "ternir" fits the idea so well...

Hi all,

I suggest 'ternir' the antonym of 'étinceler' which has a close meaning whith 'scintiller'.

If you need even more shorter, what about 'fixer', 'figer'?
A popup of explanation like 'Stop the blinking light' would be essential, but with 'deflicker' do not hope to be understood right away...
'Stabiliser' could be a bit more convenient but surely too long with its 10 letters.

hmm, french is a language with rather long words but usually not the worst offender in that regard... maybe some UI rework is needed...

My thinking too.
