TL;DR: I declare weak ownership in my package by using "Debian Commons

Hi Paul,
thank you a lot for pushing this. And great name!
Just for reference, this is the beginning of a 2024 discussion about
this topic of "low-commitment maintenance":
https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2024/12/msg00279.html
That thread contains various arguments pro and against this kind of
package ownership model, as well as some technical details about how to
implement this in the best way. No consensus has been reached on the
technical side. (I hope the reactions to your message mean that
"political" consensus is, in fact, in place.)
I'm linking this just to make sure that past technical arguments (first
and foremost, which email address to use) are acknowledged in this new
round of discussions.
DDPO shows all packages using Debian Commons together like here:
https://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=viking%40packages.debian.org
What witchery is that?
Does DDPO first looks up the name associated to an email address and
then searchers for all maintainers/uploaders that match that name?
Regards,
