I agree. We had an incident we had to investigate yesterday just like this. A SpamCop member filed a complaint to SpamCop because he received an unsolicited e-mail message. Included in the message was one URL for a web site hosted on one of our servers by one of our clients. This web site and web site owner had nothing to do with sending the message or the person who sent the message. Like a lot of administrators we make every effort to investigate and respond to every complaint. So this one incident killed a half-hour of my time. For absolutely nothing. We were never blacklisted by SpamCop but it was such a terrible waste of time and we certainly could have been blacklisted if other factors had been different. It makes me wonder whether SpamCop really can be taken seriously at all.
