If you are using raid then the Adaptec 2120S is a good unit. We
have used Adaptec for years and they are solid controllers. We have had
some small problems where 2120S cards are finicky with certain drives
and bios revisions. Particularly the Seagate drives so be careful. They
also have a new 39320-R series that does Raid 0 and 1. The card is less
expensive than the 2120S series(that can do Raid 5, 10 etc) and it does
not look to have any ram onboard

I have not used the LSI.

For a little more money the Intel SRCU42L raid controller is the
most reliable and trouble free unit we have used in that price range.

Hope this helps.
