Why the rush? As Cosmin says, software is very expensive so the chance to get a 25% discount is too great to miss! I bought Delphi 7 (partially on the basis of Kylix support), but as it offered very little over the Delphi 5 I still use, I felt it was money thrown away. More recent versions have been overpriced - especially with Microsoft giving away VS 2005 (if you attended an event). However, I realise that D5 is now aging and support for 3rd party stuff is /just/ becoming problematical, and I've heard good reports of D2007 (could be hype, of course), so this time I'm going to give it a try. I see it as a bug-fixed D2006, and hope it will be fast and reliable. Thanks to those who've commented on the best way to buy, and the upgrade possibilities. We don't all have time to follow blogs!
