Stacey,

Have you not heard that you should be staying away from even numbered versions ?  :-)

We use D7.  D2,4,6 and 8 stayed on the shelf.  But it looks like D10 (aka D2006) could be an exception.

All I can tell you is that we do have large projects, some of the larger ones around.  We dont have any problems compiling in IDE or from command line.  The only thing we did find was that enabling TD32 debug info caused linker errors.

We used to get "fail with rlink32 error in D5... but havent had any in D7.

Sometimes things will work fine, even for days at a time, but often the linking stage will either:
  • fail with "Out of memory while expanding stream"
  • fail with rlink32 error XXXX.
  • fail with an access violation in rlink32.
  • freeze and us 100% cpu.
Sometimes a rebuild will work correctly, and sometimes we have to go through all sorts of rituals like restarting Delphi or the computer, building another more simple project etc etc.

I have seen a few posts with this same problem but no resolutions.

Any ideas on what we could do about it?

Stacey
