Hello Rohini,

Ray Meta are actually changes made in the source code. The whole v2.0.0 series
is Ray Meta.
This is explained in the discussion (section "From Ray to Ray Meta").

See http://genomebiology.com/2012/13/12/R122#sec3

I encourage you to also try MEGAHIT (appeared in 2015).

Subject: Ray Meta

Hi Sébastien,
I am a bioinformatician at Columbia University in NY. I haven been trying to
run Ray to assmble single end HiSeq whole genome shotgun data from gorillas. We
are looking to assemble the micro biome of the gut (bacteria, virus, fungi
etc). I was able to run Ray with this command -
mpiexec -n 30 Ray -k 31 -s chroloflexi_samples.fastq -o chroloflexi_ray

It ran okay but I was wondering if I ran Ray-meta correctly instead of Ray
vanilla. I couldn’t find an an option in the manual to run Ray meta. Could you
give me more information about this?

Thanks,
Rohini Sinha
