So the magic URL doesn't cover all cases. Would it be possible to
make a bookmarkable ticket-URL automatically log you in, if you've
already logged in, in that browser and you've checked [x] Remember me.
What's the downside of this?

agree. that's why i lobbied to have a "perma-link" on the ticket

i wish you didn't have to do that. i'd rather that you were logged
into the server with your username and password, cos that lets us help
you more easily if you run into problems.
ideally both the logged-in and ticketed views of collections would
have bookmarkable urls. there are two technical things we'd need to do
to make this happen:
1) accept urls that indicate which calendar you want to look at in the
logged-in view
2) if you go to a bookmarked calendar url without a ticket, you are
asked to log in and then redirected to the logged-in view of that
calendar
