I tend to side with Katie on this one. Though I understand the use
cases (Mimi pointed out) for copying an event from read-only to a
personal read-write collection. Even if you would allow a copy the
item (in read-only to read-write), I tend to think one would still
not be able to 'edit' the item. That the 'item' itself would be
locked (in read-only) as it was intended to be when shared.
(Grant noted that one could go hack it if they ran headless and
knew what they were doing.)
Presumably we have no plans to change this functionality before
Preview. I believe there is no way to add an event to a second
collection from the Cosmo UI in the Preview timeframe (read-only or
not).
That is correct. There is no way to add an event to a second
collection–at least as far as I know for the Preview timeframe.
