Given the length of abstracts I usually work with (some lines till up to one page) I don't think sending them within the document is a good idea - it might make the document so much larger. Personally I would prefer to store them together with the annotations and other "content" seperately. However, since sharing abstracts might sometimes be useful too, inclucing them into the document should imho be optional - so every user can decide that for him-/herself ... if that is conceptionally possible, of course.
