I am not interested to join yet another mailing list (about
certification),
but would want to propose that we split the work over many smaller
regions, with a volunteer responsable for every region. I may be
prepared to take up the .be domain (which is just about 10 or 20
entries). If we then build a new list that is empty to start with and
only import regions where a volunteer has showed up, at least we
will build a realistic list, that has some real people maintaining it.
Okay, but let's wait a little until we are at that stage; we are not
quite. I'm also not quite sure what you mean by "certification": the
certifying of companies using the criteria we have devised? Okay.
There will be a drive to provide "volunteers", because if there is no
volunteer for a region, then there is no listing for that region,
simple.
At least someone will take up responsibility, if not just for the
self-
serving purpose to have at least his own company listed. If ever that
would lead to abuse, we can still resolve that with some policy of
majority vote per region or something.
Agreed. And my simple suspicion is that we will need at some point
paid staff. But let's first focus on devising the criteria for
certification. Though you may not want to join a new list I do invite
others; I am already subscribed to it and am keenly interested in the
outcome and direction of the work.

Peter
