Hello Diane

Hi Jacqueline,

I thought that oooauthors.org was a sandbox or workshop for creating or maintaining doco and that the intention was to collate the FAQs for publication on the OOo site.

Yes, that was the plan, and I guess this is also the root of my internal struggle.

Maintaining the FAQ in two places can't be much fun.

If creating and maintaining in the Plone system and migrating them to the OOo
site is not working, why can't you just use IssueTracker and CVS ?

I fear that it is not working because of my actions. I have wondered if I'm in the way of it working.

I like the IssueTracker and CVS. The IssueTracker sets up a nice "to-do" list is
always available, and anyone can pick up tasks from there. I like CVS too,
because it shows all versions and all changes in a way that is similar to
manufacturing documentation, which is my comfort zone. It allows history to be
come a tool, which can sometimes be very helpful. I can easily jump on this
bandwagon.

Perhaps if people want to submit or modify a FAQ they post to this list, or
they can use the Plone site as a FAQ submission spot if they prefer the web interface.

That is happening. New FAQs are posted at the Plone site, and I'm not keeping up. I guess really the ticket is that I need to get to work. ;)

I find the FAQ very helpful for responding to email sent to webmaster@ as often their question has already been answered :) I tend to read and refer to those at http://documentation.openoffice.org/faqs/index.html as it is easier to scan or read the titles.

That's good to know. Thank you for sharing this. I always wonder about it, and if this setup up is easy to use. In many ways, I prefer its layout with no sub-directories, but I see good in the setups that contain directories as well. This is another point I on which I often change sides, so I have wondered if I am too stubborn. Maybe there is an audience for both styles of organization...

Maybe I am analyzing this too much. Maybe I should stop wobbling, and just get
back to it?!

:)

Diane
