Hi all,

With our Documentation category for example, what is the best choice :
[[Category:FR/Documentation]] - or - [[Category:Documentation/FR]] ?
1. I think the first is the better - for French peoples - it will give us an easier overview, and seems more logical, too... 2. But the second is perhaps more practical for administrators of the wiki... In the first case, we'll have [[Category:FR/Documentation/FAQ/Writer]], and so on... Second case, that become [[Category:Documentation/FR/FAQ/Writer]], etc.

From an admin standpoint, the category name does not matter so much as long as it is known. Having FR/Documentation or Documentation/FR does not matter so much from a technical point of view.

I agree with you that the FR/Documentation is more logical since it also reflects the sub-page structure you are using on the French part of the Wiki. If I was to choose, I would go with the FR/Documentation category structure.

Well, I choose this way. this is now FR/Documentation :
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ACategoryTree&target=FR%2FDocumentation&mode=categories&dotree=voir+l%E2%80%99arborescence
:-)
And, for example with Base, Category:FR/Documentation/FAQ/Base is shown twice in Category:FR/Documentation/FAQ and in Category:FR/Documentation/Base.
* Does it look correct ?

I've seen the special pages CategoryTree (above), the page:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Categories
And this searching page:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/w/index.php?title=Special:PrefixIndex&from=FR/Documentation
* But is there anyway to find 'pages without any category' in an "address space", such as FR/Documentation ? Any <DPL> query ?

We have more in the documentation section here:
http://fr.openoffice.org/Documentation/Index.html
I think we'll need to create a short Wiki page per document, with the title, a short description, the date of last edition, the link to the doc itself (ODT, ODS, PDF...) - including file size information - and of course a well chosen category. Perhaps each download-able doc will be shown more efficiently this way :-)
* Perhaps we should make a template for such use (except category) ?
I'm going to post the idea on fr-doc list, so that the different authors make their own pages. Better accuracy, much more speed in actualization...

Thank again.

What I remarked yesterday... It's a long time that we have a template named Documentation/FR. It's goal was to automatically assign Category:Documentation/FR. Just after editing it with the new Category:FR/Documentation, all pages that call this template were referenced in the new category. I was wondering about it because I saw in Wikimedia that one's need to take care about it. (Edited the old Category:Documentation/FR to explain that "this category is no longer used. Use [[:Category:FR/Documentation]] instead.")
* May I add this template to the old category ?
