How? This utility sorts an entire index ... it doesn't work per-segment. The
old2New mapping is a global mapping.
I thought about this, but I didn't see any real choice. I.e., even if we sort
each segment separately, we'd still need to sort the index globally (see my
comment about the online sorting).
If u have an idea how it can be per-segment, I'll be happy to hear.
