I share that sentiment also.

The DRM issue is difficult to cover in a sound-bite, but is nonetheless a key advantage. Maybe a one line explanation or witicism will turn up.

OOo seems to be "complete" for the most part. There are some small things like engineering notation and level of SVG support, but by and large it is there. Now key packages like music notation software are missing and I don't see how any productivity suite can call itself complete without at least MIDI import. ;)

Seriously though, the calls for a mail client are being resolved, but it still absolutely baffle me as to why it should make a difference whether it is downloaded at the same time or called part of the suite. I suspect it may be part of the appliance mindset where people expect specific versions of data formats, applications, operating systems and kernels to be inextricably intertwined.
