I never said those talks were only relevant to NLC. What I said was that the NLC would benefit much from regular IRC confs. The NLC has a large number of people, mostly volunteers, who have pretty much the same goals, and don't get to talk to each much. Hence, regular IRC confs would be an opportunity for different NLs to exchange ideas, and to talk more with each other.
