In this interview B.Gates was explaining how they were pushing hard their efforts in India to conquer emerging local markets. I really think that for the first time, we are fighting with equal means and such a NL group could be a dreadful weapon "knocking out" Microsoft out of these markets. Now, let's try to go furtherin this thinking. What is identified as generic needs and concerns can be very roughly summarized as following: -need for sharing and mutualizing ressources and processes: human ressources, QA processes, localization developments and maintenance -need for a better communication: communication with OOo and the NLC at large, communication with the other Indic NL projects, local marketing and promotion. All this needs some level of coordination that can be helped by such a NL Group. I was thinking, (but I may be wrong, please elaborate) that what could be done about it are two things: -nominating two coordinators (note: they are not new leads of the group, they are coordinators and it is an informal status), one to help on the coordination of ressources and another to help with the communication issues. -setting up a new mailing list, wiki, etc...(it doesn't need to be done like this, you may not even need one) If you can start by one these things, it would be a good thing; but I am of course awaiting your ideas and feedback.
