It seems this has become a sticking point while in my mind it was one of the minor issues. I see the sheriff's role as primarily making sure that issues get noticed. When you send an email to someone saying their checkin broke the build for example, I don't think anyone will actually ignore that on purpose, and I think most people would be happy to know about it sooner rather than later. It would be useful to get pointers to specific tasks/sentences on the wiki page that feel too much like rules enforcement. If sheriff as a word feels bad, we could replace that with something else. > +1 to periodically handing off the role of "tinderbox wrangler" > periodically to people willing to take on the role > * week at a time? month at a time? I am open to other times, but it seems too much to ask to spend more than a day at a time in my opinion. -- Heikki Toivonen
