getting the fonts from the users font directory (~/Library/Fonts)?
You're right, private user fonts are currently not available. The
problem is that the whole fondu stuff is just a workaround and modifies
the OOo installation which is available to all users. So we can only put
public fonts into the installation folders which are available to all users.
The correct solution of course would be to not use fondu at all but
provide direct support for Apple fonts. But currently nobody is working
on it. Any volunteers ?
