Hi James,
As I don't hav a mac .. I cannot confirm that it really works, but
german (as well as english) builds have been tested with the test
tool. So .. yes, tests can be automated.
Ok. I may be dense (and then again maybe not) but how are you supposed
to run the automated tools? This is not described, or I could not find
how on the QA web pages.
This is written here:
http://qa.openoffice.org/qatesttool/index.html
The "Introduction to automated GUI Testing" will tell how to set up the
environment. The testtool itself is part of every OOo release
(<oooinstalldir>/program/testtool) You should first try to set this up
and run a first script ( framework/first/first.bas is good for this). If
this is ok a set of scripts for release testing could be run using
script/unix/ooo_releasetests.sh (this will run for about a day).
before doing the tests, remember to check out the correct scripts from
cvs. .. you need to check out qa/qatesttool.
If you run in troubles, ask here at the list.
André
