Hello all -- after many months of "dead-heading" on several OOo
lists, I have finally gotten my wish to do some testing for the Mac
porting project. I've asked these q's on the mac-port list but am
doubling up here in hopes of a quick response.
Please be thorough and gentle:
-- I am an end-user with beta-testing experience
-- I am NOT a programmer and most of the lingo that goes by on these
lists is quite intimidating
-- I do not yet know what most OOo (or standard programmer-ese)
anagrams stand for
-- Since 99% of the content on all the OOo pages is geared to
programmers and not end-users, I am struggling a bit (and it's just
taking hours of my time) trying to find the info I need ... so
apologies in advance if this is covered somewhere on OOO.org
here goes:
I've been assigned some tests for a new build. Downloaded & installed
just fine. I have a TCM log-in and can get in just fine. Understand
all the instructions re what to test, but do not understand a couple
of things about the fields in TCM and the choices I'm supposed to
make in them:
1. There are two choices for "English" in the Languages field. My box
is English-US. Can I presume that English-UK is the first choice
(since it comes first alphabetically) and therefore I should choose
the 2nd "English" as being English-US?
2. The Key Words field ... there are two keywords for the first test
I just looked at, "input" and "keyboard" (neither of which relate to
the mission of the test, which is just to ensure a wizard opens and
is translated correctly ... I would expect something like "wizard"
and "localization" to be keywords here). Where can I read up on
keywords, so I have some sense of what I'm supposed to do with that
field when entering my results?
thanks in advance for any help,
kazar
