Hi James,
We all were new to this once. However, you are closer to the process
than I and I feel that your inputs are very valuable. And yes we need a
document that says "Do this, press that" to make QA more effective.
And your assistance will definitely help when the Aqua version of
OpenOffice.org for the Mac is released (and I feel that is coming soon.)
I will make it easy on this individual by presenting them with
structured Q's for them to reply to with quick A's, then I will turn
it into something readable. All I need is literally 15 minutes to 1/2
hour of someone's time for an email exchange, and then I'll create
something persistent out of it so you guys do not have to answer the
same Q's on this list over and over as more strangers-to-OOo join this
list as newbie end-user testers....
If my memory serves me correctly, there is some rather detailed
information on the openoffice.org wiki that was created by the French
n-l users group. Unfortunately, most of it still appears to be in
French, and particular attention was paid to setting up an automated
testtool environment to run testing on the Mac platform (I have no time
to translate this at the moment). I do know, however, that some of the
TCM stuff was translated into French from English by Sophie Gautier.
