OK, I think it's time for a sanity check having read through all this...

Please excuse the top post but since my comments won't be directed to ONE specific item, I don't think it matters.

Fact 1: there has been VERY limited discussion on PL concerning the latest "new" site proposals that were submitted

Fact 2: Of what discussion there was, some, not all, seemed to favor Maarten's submisison, which has now evolved inot

https://www.sc40.sfo.collab.net/proposals/murb/2.6/

Fact 3: There were and continue to be concerns about basically the "face" of even this design since there was some feeling it's simplicty omitted certain important elements

Fact 4: Maarten and others that have been directly involved with this over the past week or so HAVE been making progress and trying out some things but, as you can imagine, it's a learning process and no one has 24 hours a day to devote to this

Fact 5: I personally am optimistic, given that we DO indeed have some technical issues to work out, that we can get something close to a final revision out for review by the end of this weekend, Sunday nite.

If you're at all cursious about any of this, I would suggest you review the list archives of:

Maybe you've already had such bad experience with this, but the thing is, they are not discussing the proposals yet. There has been a short discussion, but the PL's have only expressed their concerns with current design (mostly content related) and some expressed what style they favoured. But their input, and our own under developped proposals, need to move to a more final state. That's something what we're working now on (and of course presenting this content well). When finished, they'll vote on it again.

well, when i expressed my concerns on PL i was told to shut-up and contribute to your design even if i was clearly against it.

As is my way, I wanted to see this for myself, but don't have the appropriate permissions to view the list?

So my question is -- as dense as it may seem -- why are the discussions about this project's work being held on a closed list?

Tam
