Hi Johan,
Sorry for me dropping in on this,
but would it not be an idea if we could check the visitors browser
and/or system settings, and depending on this redirect the visitor to
the appropriate NL project. Every NL project could place a link to:
OpenOffice.org International, or OpenOffice.org Worldwide.
I have created such thing for the download page... though I'm not so
sure whether it works now in IE now.
Problem however is that it only seems to look at the browser language,
not the 'primary language' setting of the browser... So if you have a
browser in Dutch for example, you should get an additional link pointing
you to the Dutch downloads.... but not when you browsing in English...
on the other hand, if you understand English well enough to browse in
that language you'll probably also capable of finding the link to the
downloads...
But maybe someone is able to improve the script. I am thinking already
for a long time implementing a 'Firefox' like warning (that kind of
yellowish bar informing e.g. a pop-up has been blocked) on the top of
the main page's screen informing that the user might be interested in
OOo in his or her native language. (Preferably written in one's own
language of course...
Using javascript is btw the best thing we can use... but for most
people that is good enough I think.
g.,
Maarten
Just an idea!
