Hi Kay,
Here is something along the lines of what I meant:

Also, the wording on the download page reads:
Include the Java JRE with this download (This option is not available
for Linux DEB and Mac OSX)
actually you WILL get a jre version linux that is NOT deb. Mac OSX goes
to Mac porting, so this is a non-issue. At any rate, are you saying you
get this message for Macs also??? Please clarify this for me.
I think it would be better if it read something like this:
Include the Java JRE for Windows downloads
well see above. JRE is included for some Linux
On the homepage, since there is automatic OS detection, there would be
no need for this extra statement.
OK...I'll look into this again.

Hi Kay,
Sorry, I obviously wasn't thinking clearly when I wrote that previous
message - if JS is disabled, then the user won't even get to see the
button (since that relies on JavaScript too). I've made this sound
more complex than it is - all you would need to do is call
writeJavaSelector() on the download button on both the homepage and
download page in the case that a JRE cannot be detected.
Those that have JS disabled will just have to go to the page with the
mirror links.
