In many cases, the quoting in the text/html part is easier to read (it's clearer who wrote what) than in the text/plain part. For example, Igor's message looks like this in HTML: | Dear developers, | | Hello, Dominik ;) | | sorry for a slightly off-topic post, but I've noticed that a significant | number of posters is sending HTML e-mail to this list (not to mention The first and last two lines of the snippet are quoted. In this case, it is not much of a problem, but for inline replies it can be really confusing.
