The comment is also (a very welcome, in my view) departure from previous years, when 'the government' (centrally and locally) has been unwilling to rebut the myths about how if you move a snowflake the lawyers from hell will descend on you and sue you. Instead, there tended to be comments along the lines of "it'd be nice if you cleared snow, but you might get sued..."
This time round there's been a massive shift in the media coverage, with the myth finally being described as a myth - partly triggered by DirectGov giving very clear and, er..., direct advice this year. Certainly I think it's more to do with that than my own repeated blogging on the subject, much as I'd like to big up the impact of social media :-) Back to the main topic - I wonder if the functionality that people would most use is more along the lines of Pledgebank, i.e. I'll clear the snow outside my house if 3 other people in my street also clear outside theirs?
