That crap goes in the key because it's data about the key you want to
request.  I think it has about as much reason to be there as a CHK's
encryption key part or an SSK's public key part.

I don't understand what people are failing to see here.  This reduces
the number of requests required to get data from date-based redirects.
Freenet requests can take a long time, so that's good stuff.  It
doesn't break things any more than the new metadata spec does -- the
old stuff can still be supported.  This seems like a pretty obvious
win to me.
