I think OpenSRS is already a good job by providing the easy-to-use web-based
interface and the easy-to-install client software. Not to mention it's
customizable too. I haven't been able to find a registrar who provides
similar features.

In addition to the US $6 per year per domain, Accredited Registrars have to
pay a quarterly accreditation fee (a variable portion). It varies depending
on the volume of names registered. I noticed that Tucows paid US $6,569.37
for the quarter ending 31st March 2000.

In order not to compete with us, resellers, OpenSRS has chosen not to
provide value added services, such as domain parking, e-mail forwarding,
etc. It is reasonable for them to charge US $10 per domain per year to cover
operating expenses. They need to employ staff to provide the 24/7 customer
support which we are getting now.

Anyway, I respect everyone's views. Everyone has different opinions about a
particular subject. It's everyone's right to bring it up to the attention of
Tucows if they are not happy about anything, but it is up to Tucows to
decide.

Thanks,

Sue
