I'm wondering if CIRA figures that if they purposely hold back OpenSRS from
submitting pre-registrations for the initial period -- that they will have
the benefit of allowing pre-registration in cycles.
For instance, since OpenSRS has a large client base, why not hold them off
while Internic.ca and other popular registrars get their pre-registrations
in...
This way, after the initial rush, they can give OpenSRS the green light.
It appears that Pre-Registrations were expected to be done Sept 18 through
November 1st. Instead, by threatening everyone, they caused everyone to want
Pre-Registrations as soon as possible, closer to Sep 18.
Our clients are getting very squirmish. Talking about holding queues, etc --
is really weighing on their patience. What an uncomfortable situation we
are all faced with, moreso, OpenSRS support staff, the RSP's and all of our
customers.
I wish the news Media would cover this ridiculous problem.
