How did this happen? Around October 23, there was an
announcement at www.cdnnet.ca that they were no longer accepting
any more registrations for .ca domains.
http://www.cdnnet.ca/notice.html Yet, I've just found a domain
that MUST have been registered by internic.ca after that!! How
are they able to do this? I had a client who placed an advance
registration for a name back in September. Now I find he's lost
that because someone registered under the 'old' system at
internic.ca on October 28?

>From the www.cdnnet.ca/search.html I see the following:

Subdomain: (deleted for confidentiality)
Date-Received: 2000/10/28
Date-Approved: 2000/10/29
Organization: (deleted for confidentiality)
NS1-Hostname: dns.internic.ca
NS2-Hostname: dns2.internic.ca

The whois at cira also says it is reserved, but doesn't show that
it is registered.

Something smells really fishy here!
