Have no idea if this is an OpenSRS problem, registry problem or my problem.
I have been running my own DNS for over 5 years. All my other domains (about
150) on the DNS server are functioning. This domain that is down now
1295netNames.com was functioning for a week or so fine. I have made no
changes on my end but the domain has quite working today. This is really
embarrassing to us, how can we sell domains when we can't even keep ours
running? I have double and triple checked the DNS entries for this domain
and can't find a problem on this end. That is not to say there is not one, I
just can't find it..

This is not unlike the same exact problem I had last week with eAustin.com.
This was even more embarrassing since I assured this customer that there
would be NO downtime for his site which is high profile. All I did in this
case was do a transfer then pug in our DNS servers after the transfer. AS
far as I can remember, the problems started before I plugged in our DNS
servers but after the transfer.

On to the bigger problem. When I had this problem last week, I sent an
email explaining the urgency of the matter and asked for some quick help to
make sure it was not on OpenSRS' end. A week or so later still no response!
I only sent an email because I had a terribly hard time trying to find the
phone number on the Opensrs site. Anyhow, the domain last week just
mysteriously started working without any changes on my end whatsoever about
an hour or two after the email I sent but never did get a response..

Since we had been down for at least a good part of the day, I tried
looking for the number again. I went to http://www.opensrs.org/ clicked on
RSP support, then contact support and I go this:

Sorry -- the page you requested was not found on this server.

Thank-you for visiting OpenSRS!

On this error page I noticed a little link in the masthead graphic that
said "contact us". I clicked it and to my joy I found the phone number. I
called the 800 number and followed the prompts to OpenSRS support. After
doing so the menu would either start over from the main menu or transfer me
to a number that would just ring forever with no answer! After 30 rings or
so, I decided to hang up. I tried this process over and over getting the
same alternating results, thrown to the beginning of the menu or to the
infinitely ringing extension.

Still no response to my email from today or last week. Still down!
Still no way to get in contact with OpenSRS in a timely fashion..

Although, this could I guess in some way be my fault or a problem on my
end I doubt it. I am very pleased with OpenSRS since the beginning of the
program but am pretty disappointed in them over the last week or so.

Can anyone help? Are you there OpenSRS? I know they use to monitor the
group and looks like they still do, maybe I will get lucky and they will
read my post..

Has anyone else had experiences like this where a domain just goes dead for
no reason then comes back when it feels like with no changes on your end?

 Todd
