He's right. The situation seems well in hand now, we'll see how long it
takes.
FWIW,
- there was some miscommunication issues, Entrust personel and
OpenSRS refer to the "registration code" using two different
terms, one that Entrust thinks is mutually exclusive (i.e.
I said "is it this number XXXXXXXXXXXX?" and they said, "NO,
that is not it....", but it was.
- it is not clear on the site that you can enter all your
data, including your CSR concurrent with faxing in your
bona fides. We had faxed in our Articles and were waiting
for something to happen (a la Thawte procedure) and when
I finally got on the phone to Entrust was told there was
nothing in motion on it. This is probably more our fault
than Entrust's
- apparently it is supposed to take "3 to 5 business days"
from here, but now that we've got things in motion they
appear to be progressing much faster than that
- last but not least, I woke up on the wrong side of the
bed this morning so I'm even grouchier than usual. Sorry
for the crass subject line.
I still think CERTs are a viable value-add for resellers. We are all
probably accustomed to the fluency and ease with which we register
domains via OpenSRS and that has perhaps spoiled us in certain
respects and raised our expectations when we approach other products
from other companies in this less than perfect world (how's that for
diplomacy ?)
