No, not at all -- in the case of the farmer and DaVinci, they took the business risk to initially purchase the land, and/or create the painting in the first place. They had a potential to lose money (or waste their time). In a monopoly, there's NO CHANCE to lose money (that's why they're so highly regulated). There's no risk when you're a monopolist.
