But the system has always behaved this way. Don't forget that nothing stops the old registrant from getting the domain during the TBR process and tons of them do as they panic when they get the email from CIRA stating their domain just got toasted. I know we have had several times had to SAVE the customer by hammering trying to get that specific name. > I have tried that also, without success, as some registrar's on the CIRA > list > are not capable, or don't want to for *liability* reasons or are not > sanctioned > by the CIRA to do so, or are sanctioned but are unable to help other > than with > lame excuses after the fact. Every CIRA certified registrar has access. Some choose not to do it because it doesn't make economic sense or some other reason. I know that we (egatedomains) do it because we've done very well. Tom @ baremetal also does it and so does OpenSRS. Others (such as easyDNS -- I believe) do it only for specific clients when the client does an 'oopsie'. > I am not calling *sour grapes* here, I am merely telling of my > experience. Frankly folks...I know > something is wrong with this system from experience. And from experience I have to say the system works *EXACTLY* as documented (trust me, several times I've tried to argue with CIRA that their timing is 10ms off or something, they have proven me wrong each time). You can read the exact specs on the CIRA website Registrar documents. > > The number of domain *hunters* is not relevant to the topic here. > Competition is > fine...it is the system that appears stinky. > Above. > > > > > > > If there is a specific question I'd be happy to answer. > > My question is will you help me register a TBR domain, once, so I way > understand > the methodology to the madness of the current system. Increases chances. This isn't so much a sales pitch as mentioning that there is some serious efforts out there to get these names. > > Respectfully, > > Graeme Again. I'm happy to clarify the process or assist with any specific issue. However the TBR process works very much as documented and while some disagree it is for the best (including me) it provides each certified registrar with a level playing field if they choose to use it. --- Paul Andersen (InterNIC:PA137) [EMAIL PROTECTED] E-Gate Communications Inc.
