Perhaps I missed it as I was watching this thread, but did someone from 
OpenSRS say "this is something we are not capable of doing"?  I know I 
have customers who would probably pay me (and by extension, Tucows) for 
a full-year registration that only lasted X months, if it enabled me to 
bring all their domains up for renewal on the same day each year.

So, if it's something Tucows CAN do, then it most certainly is germane 
for discussion here, and I've seen nothing yet indicating they CAN'T do 
it (I'll admit I'm not sure if they can, but they might be able to, who 
knows).
